Support Our Troops
Upper Northwest Illinois Republican Women actively support military men and women serving overseas. The club provides items for goody-bags on an on-going basis, and has raised money for the Northwest Illinois chapter of l Operation Home Front through Pray for our Troops & Support our Troops Buttons.
Chairwoman Yvonne Knight-Wadell explains, "We provide the items and Operation Homefront sees that they are distributed to the troops. We want our troops to know that we appreciate them. They are American heroes!"

March UNIRW Membership Meeting to Be Held at 9 E. Coffee
The UNIRW membership will be held Tuesday, March 9, 6:00 p.m. at 9 E. Coffee, 9 E. Stephenson Street, Freeport. An invitation is extended to anyone interested in joining Upper Northwest Illinois Republican Women. Questions? Call 815-233-5549.
UNIRW membership meetings are held bi-monthly the 2nd Tuesday on odd-numbered months.

Liz Carter to Lead NW IL Republican Women
Liz Carter has been elected as President of Upper Northwest Illinois Republican Women. UNIRW, which is in its 10th year, covers both Stephenson and JoDaviess Counties. The objectives of the club are to educate the electorate on local, state, and national policy; train and elect political candidates; and to promote the Republican Party platform.
The 2010 UNIRW officers are: Liz Carter, President; Jean Johnson, Vice-President; Dr. Maria LaPorta, Secretary; Talena Wuebbels, Treasurer.

ELEVEN AREA LIBRARIES ARE RECIPIENTS OF UNIRW BOOK INITIATIVE
American Heritage Chairperson, Jan Rowe, of Upper Northwest Illinois Republican Women presented The True Story of the BILDERBERG GROUP by Daniel Estuliln to libraries in Stephenson and JoDaviess Counties.
Receiving libraries include: Elizabeth Township Library, Freeport Public Library, Pearl City Public Library, Galena Public Library, Hanover Township Library, Highland Community College Library, Lena Village Library, Stockton Township Public Library, Warren Public Library, Apple River Public Library, and East Dubuque Public Library
Each year Upper Northwest Illinois Republicn Women selects a book that contributes to the citizenship education of our communities. The book is given to libraries in honor of the Barbara Bush Liberacy Program and in memory of the Mamie Eisenhower Library Project.
